Sad News for the NP Pilgrim Family

R. Darrell Brown dedicated many years of service to the New Plymouth School District. He was a teacher at New Plymouth High School for 15 years and served as the principal of New Plymouth Middle School for an additional 16 years. Prior to moving to New Plymouth in 1981, Darrell taught school for 8 years in Aberdeen and Idaho Falls. He coached wrestling and football for over 30 years, continuing to coach NPHS football for years after he retired as a full-time educator. In his retirement, Darrell also served as a trustee on the New Plymouth School Board for two years.
In a newspaper article about his retirement in 2012, Darrell said, "Obviously, if you stay at something 39 years, you must like a lot of things. You have to like children to teach." The article closes with his statement, "I know I'm going to miss the staff and the kids."
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Kathy, who also taught in the New Plymouth School District for 30 years, and their family during this time.
